Elected Experience: I am honored that you have elected me three times to serve as your State Representative. I am House Majority Floor Leader; Vice Chair, Technology and Economic Development; and Member, Higher Education, Transportation, and Rules. Previously, King County voters elected me twice as your Seattle Port Commissioner.

Other Professional Experience: Research Adviser, UW; Director, SAIC Global Technology; Senior Analyst, U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency. Board Member: NWProgressive.org, WAND.org, Ploughshares.org.

Education: M.A., Government and National Security; B.S., Foreign Service, Georgetown University.

Community Service: Co-Chair, Governor's “Maritime Blue” Task Force; Vice President, U.S.-Canadian PNW Economic Region.

Statement: I ask for your vote so I can keep fighting for safe and healthy communities. I want mental health counselors, nurses, and special needs educators in our schools and colleges. I secured funding for college student financial aid and career and technical education pathways for maritime and manufacturing jobs. My legislation advances clean energy solutions to combat climate change. I will propose a more fair, stable tax structure to sustain funding for living-wage jobs, public education, affordable housing and healthcare, and transit. Endorsed by: 36th District Democrats, NWPC-WA, Planned ParenthoodVotesNW, WA Conservation Voters, WA State Labor Council.
